 Chrissy Grams, LMT

As young as I can remember it has been my dream to help people achieve wellness. I
began my journey to obtain my goal in 2000 studying at Florida College of Natural
Health. There I obtained my National Certification in licensed massage therapy.
Immediately following my graduation I worked at the Walt Disney World Resorts. As a native Texan, my home and my family were calling me back. Upon returning to Austin, I decided to further my education and received my Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. I graduated with Honors in Exercise Sports Science with an emphasis in Physical Therapy, learning about sports injuries, acute and chronic injuries,
rehabilitation and exercises to help facilitate healing and improve quality of life for my
clients. After much thought I decided not to further pursue Physical Therapy and took
my new knowledge and invested it in my practice. I prefer a more hands on approach
and felt that massage therapy was where my true passion was. I have worked at many
top spas in Austin over the years, as well as chiropractic offices. Throughout my career I
have been part of healing a diverse clientele, including our very own Texas Longhorns,
along with many other professional and collegiate athletes. The types of massage I
practice and incorporate in my treatments are Swedish, Sports, Trigger Point, Deep
Tissue, Acupressure, Nueromuscular, and Pre/Post Natal massages.

 Nicole Poole, LMT

Mother always used to say, "Quit touching thing.  Put that down.  Keep your hands and feet to yourself."  My grandmother drew the conclusion that that's how I learned.  I went on with great joy and encouragement from my family to play competitive sports which was also hands on: ice and roller skating, basketball, softball (All-Star Team 3 consecutive years), swim team champion, martial arts competitor.

But sports ended with high school and after a year or so of college I sat down with my parents to let them know that my career passion was to become a massage therapist.  I was 19.  In support they reminded me of my great physical coordination, my love of helping people, and how learning the science of anatomy came easy for me.

I completed my first 300 hours of basic training for licensing at the Austin School of Massage in May 2003.  Following graduation I went straight to work at an upscale spa eager to show off my pampering skills for a few years.  I then spent another few years working with therapy establishment clientele who had various ailments and injuries.  At the same time I was able to grow a small network of private clientele providing mobile in-home care.

I realized early in my career that working with Chiropractic doctors would do more to advance my skills and techniques.  In addition, I have more than 150 hours of continuing education from the Lauterstein-Conway and other schools.  Today, working with doctors and other specialized therapists I am able to better serve my clients with their pain and ailments.

‚ÄčI am grateful to have a career that I love.  I want each and every client to feel the tremendous positive energy I have to offer.  My modalities to serve you are in Sports Massage, Deep Tissue with Myofascial Techniques, Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point, Thia Massage and Stretching, Swedish and Reflexology.  Let's discuss your needs and how I can help.

Slade Manes, L.Ac., LMT, M.S.Ac.O.M.

Slade Manes (pronounced Manus) was born in Baton Rouge, LA on Nov. 5, 1979. He attended Catholic High School, playing football while there. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from LSU in 2002, then attended Medical Training College where he earned a Massage Therapy diploma. His NeuroMuscular Therapy ("Deep Tissue") instructor, Steve Thomas, was an understudy to Janet Travell, the woman who developed the technique and literally wrote the books on Deep Tissue. He graduated as valedictorian of his massage class and gave the benediction speech at graduation. Additionally, Slade has been blessed with the gift of touch. This, combined with 12+ years of experience, make him an excellent massage therapist. He migrated to Austin in 2004, quickly falling in love with the music, nature, and the culture. In 2006, Slade furthered his education at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. After taking two breaks- one to take care of a sick grandmother and once to be a stay-at-home dad, he eventually earned his dual Masters degree: Masters of Science in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (M.S.Ac.O.M.). Slade maintains state licenses and national certifications in both acupuncture and massage. He makes Chinese herbal tinctures locally and in small batches. He is also a certified Supreme Science Qigong Foundation Level 1 Form facilitator. He is also certified by Kinetacore in Functional Dry Needling. Slade's focus outside of work is his family. His wife is a physician assistant for a urology group in Austin. They have two children, Edi and Ethan. Personally, he enjoys music, cooking, good food, travel, hiking, camping, disc golf, and anything outdoors (especially water-related activities). Slade follows LSU football, and during big games, he manages blood pressure spikes with good bourbon.

Fabulous team at Performance Wellness, all the way around. They've helped every member of my family, age 9 to 51 and they work wonders with their hands and exercises. I can't speak highly enough about the entire staff. Great work and we love knowing help is just a quick phone call away for pain, injuries, strains, etc.
